IDAHO FALLS - Mountain View Hospital in Idaho Falls has seen a huge increase of patients, so to expand and meet the demand the hospital has formed a partnership with Symbion Inc.

Symbion is a healthcare company based out of Tennessee. Mountain View Hospital officials say this merge will open up even more opportunities for the hospital to better serve Eastern Idaho.

Ty Erikson, a surgeon at the hospital, says this partnership will allow the hospital to focus less on business issues and more on patient care.

"When the phone rings I know it is going to be patient care driven and not some question about whether we need to spend a few more dollars for a particular orthopedic implant. So I can focus on taking care of the patients, as well as all of the physicians, and we can let people we know and trust have the sound experience to handle the management side of things," said Erickson.

One Symbion Inc. representative will sit on the hospital board, but the hospital's focus and structure will stay the same.

And the good news with expansion, it means more jobs.
