IDAHO FALLS – Mountain View Hospital announced Monday they have joined forces with a company from Tennessee to help the facility handle its every day administrative tasks.
Hospital officials say they have formed a partnership with Symbion Inc.
The partnership was made official when the paperwork was signed on Friday.
"We have been looking for another company to invest in our hospital for a few years now, and we've determined Symbion is the right company for this," said hospital spokesman, Joshua Tolman.
In fact, in 2004, just two years after opening, Tolman says the hospital has been searching for a managing partner.
Tolman and other hospital officials say the addition of Symbion will not change the way the hospital is run, or patients are cared for.
Instead, they say the partnership will help them continue to stay competitive in the ever-changing world of healthcare.
"This hospital has always been owned by local physicians, and we've had to handle the administrative as well as the medical operations," said Dr. Ty Erickson, "now, when my phone rings, I know it will be more patient-related, than anything else."
Symbion Inc. is based in Nashville, Tennessee and was formed in 1999.
The company owns various hospitals and medical facilities across the country, the closest to Eastern Idaho, located in Colorado.
However, officials say Symbion will not have any presence at Mountain View.
With financial support from Symbion, Mountain View is already looking for expansion opportunities. However, no official announcements have been made yet regarding the exact details of the projects.
