Mountain View Hospital Finds Partner

Mountain View Hospital Finds Partner

Mountain View Hospital announced Monday they have found a partner, Symbian Health Care who will add experience to the board and financial capital to the existing hospital and give them room to grow.  Mountain View's Board of Directors who also own stake in the hospital signed the deal with Symbion for an unspecified amount of money. They did say Symbion will have a quarter share in the boards decisions.

Symbion Health Care out of Nashville, Tennessee has a stake in over 70 smaller short-stay hospitals across the nation. Their website says they were founded in 1999 as a company that wanted to acquire and operate those short-stay hospitals. Mountain View Hospital will be the first hospital they will have stake in - in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Utah.

Mountain View Hospital says they are excited to work with Symbion for their experience in the health care profession and because they will allow them to expand and provide better service to eastern Idaho.

Dr. Ty Erickson/MVH - Board of Directors: "We don't want to be stuck with a group that had a desire to change the culture so our management team stays the same, the nursing stays the same - the board still has the strong position of the physicians to make sure that anything that we do in the future has patient safety and patient care as teh foremost product."

Symbion will have a quarter stake in Mountain View or have one of four board members on the board of directors. That means Mountain View will continue to be run by the doctors who currently own the hospital but they will draw on Symbions network of hospitals for additional capital for growth and medical expertise
