For Your Safety
Most births happen exactly as they have for millions of years. Mom’s body knows what to do. The staff at Mountain View Hospital and the attending physicians are there to lend a helping hand throughout the process. By closely monitoring the process, Mountain View’s thoroughly trained, experience, and certified staff can recognize any aspect of the birth that may stray from the norm. If any unanticipated problems do occur, our staff will take care of you and your baby.
Both your physician and nurses will accommodate your baby plan after ensuring your and your baby’s safety. The birthing bed comes apart for your comfort. Each birthing room has a jetted tub in which you can relax. Birthing balls and squatting bars are available to facilitate the delivery position you may prefer. In the case that 1 an epidural, which numbs the lower half of your body, we have anesthesia staff on hand at all times to ensure you are safe and comfortable.
We want every baby and mother to be healthy from start to finish at Mountain View Hospital, but the fact is that some cases will require more attention than others. For those reasons, we have equipped our Women’s Center with a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), dedicated operating rooms, and highly trained and experienced staff.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Many babies are born without complications and perfectly healthy. Others may require a little more attention. For those babies that may need help after birth, we have an excellent NICU to help them recover.
The purpose of neonatal care in the delivery room and newborn nursery is to:
- Assess and evaluate the newborn as he or she transitions from intrauterine life to extrauterine life.
- Evaluate and monitor the newborn system-by-system for normal versus abnormal functioning, providing maintenance of normal and potential treatment of abnormal findings.
- Foster bonding between infant and parents.
- Provide a safe environment at all times.
Labor and Delivery Dedicated Operating Rooms
We have two operating rooms reserved for any complications during delivery, so if a Cesarean section is required, we will have a room prepared for you.
Your Comfort
Safety plays a direct role in another of our primary goals: making you comfortable before, during, and after the birth of your child. Check out our other amenities to see why Mountain View Hospital should be your hospital.
