Department Highlight

Mountain View Hospital Physical Therapy

Mountain View Hospital’s Physical Therapy programs are designed to offer patients the best service available. Some of our therapist's specialties include pain alleviation, strength restoration, and rehabilitation, which all lead to achieving optimal functionality.

Our highly-trained, licensed team provides personal attention to each patient, and each patient receives a custom treatment plan to meet their recovery needs. Our physicians and trainers main goals include: reducing the pain a patient feels, improving an injured area’s range of motion, increasing a patient’s strength and endurance and helping a patient quickly return to daily functions.

In addition to receiving the best care available in the area, we are also proud to offer the best physical therapy facilities in Eastern Idaho.

Message From Administration

Construction Update

  • The main entrance of the hospital has been permanently closed until the completion of the new hospital. The new entrance will provide a larger roundabout and covered walkway from the parking garage. We have included some architectural renderings below to show exactly what it will look like when completed. We know this will cause some hurdles for our patients and appreciate your continued commitment to patient care. We are honored with such an amazing team that puts us at the forefront of healthcare in Southeast Idaho.
  • The Northwest entrance is currently under construction as part of our OR expansion. It is still accessible via a covered walkway.
  • Temporary Lab site under construction above PT where Health and Fitness Academy used to be. There will be a blood draw station set up in the Hillyard conference room across from the coffee shop.

News From Teton Grill Cafe

In preparation for the shutdown of the café sometime in March, we will be running “Chef Specials” for the entire month of February.   In order to use up current stocks, we will likely have some days that start with something like Pepper Steak for the first half of lunch, and then for the second half of lunch be serving Salmon instead.  There will be a posted menu, but it is subject to change day-by day.  We apologize for the inconvenience.   We will continue to have a soup of the day, as well as the full grill menu available.

News From The Lab

The American Red Cross is experiencing constrained supplies of critical blood products and today issued an urgent appeal for blood and platelet donors. While winter is home to festive holidays and celebration, winter can also cause significant reductions in blood donations and inventory levels. Factors such as holiday travel, busy schedules, and cold weather conditions have kept many donors from scheduling blood and platelet donation appointments. Blood collection activities of the American Red Cross and other blood centers have been adversely impacted this season, resulting in lower-than-normal blood and platelet donations and blood drives.

Ensuring an adequate supply for patients all winter long is our highest priority, and we will continue to do all we can to inspire donors to act and give blood. Effective today, the Red Cross augmented its existing recruitment activities by issuing a national media appeal highlighting an immediate need for blood donations and calling on generous blood and platelet donors to give now. This effort will enhance our already scheduled blood drives and recruitment strategies surrounding National Blood Donor Month in January.

We kindly seek your support by asking our hospital partners to share information about the need for blood with your employees and potential donors. A messaging toolkit is available to help you share information about the blood shortage with your colleagues and community. We are confident these measures will prompt swift action and quickly restore our product inventories so that we may more completely meet your needs.

The Red Cross thanks you for your understanding and support during these efforts. Be assured that we are making every effort possible to ensure the blood products you need continue to be available for your patients.

Thank you,
Larry Lecuyer
Account Manager

Virtually every employee and provider who cares for our community will be part of this amazing journey. Our community, our friends and our families deserve the best from the moment they enter our doors through the continuum of their care. Join your colleagues as we adopt, adapt and achieve the best possible health outcomes!

Mandatory annual courses will be assigned in Bridge to all employees January 1, 2019. Although, the pretest was popular it created a great deal of confusion with employees and unnecessary hours to determine completion.  Because of this, we have eliminated the pre-assessment and all employees will be required to complete the full course. The Annual courses will be embedded within programs that have a title that begins with  “ 2019 Annual”.The programs and courses will be assigned based on job status.

All annual courses will need to be completed by April 30.  The due date has been moved up just a bit because we are anticipating switching Learning Management Systems in May of 2019. You can access Bridge via two different avenues:

  1. Bridge link on the home page of the Intranet
  2. Or by using this link: http://mountainviewhospital.bridgeapp.com

As always, the Education department is willing and available to address any issues or concerns that you may have. Starting the week of January 6th, we will be changing our office hours to 8:00AM- 6:00PM Monday through Thursday and Fridays 8:00AM-5:00PM.  Our office is located at 1930 Channing Way (behind Dale’s Jewelers) and our phone number is: 208-542-7311.

Annual Course Update:

All PAs, NPs, RNs, LPNs, Rad Techs, CMAs, MAs, & RMAs have been assigned an additional annual course called Medication Administration Safety.  We apologize to all of you who thought you were finished with your annuals but due to an oversite, we had to assign this course for review.  Thank you for your understanding.

An additional annual course has been assigned to everyone based off of compliance requirements and will be due May 1.  Thank you for your understanding.
