The Beat - Week 47
Quote of the Day
“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” - - William Arthur Ward
An estimated 50 million pumpkin pies are eaten on Thanksgiving. But according to The American Pie Council, more Americans prefer apple pie overall — pumpkin only comes in second place.

Altenburg Joint Replacement Surgery
We would like to welcome Altenburg Joint Replacement Surgery to the Mountain View family. Specializing in total hip replacements, total knee replacements, partial knee replacement, and difficult knee and hip revisions.
Aaron Altenburg, M.D.
Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (September 2010)
Medical School: University of Iowa
Fellowship Mayo Clinic
After growing up in Southern Oregon and spending most of his training in the Midwest, Dr. Altenburg loves being back to the northwest to practice medicine. Though his training could have mandated of him to work in a big academic training center, he chose to bring his skills and his passion for orthopedic care to a smaller city with a sense of community. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and skiing and spending time with his family.
Message From Administration
Come Sign the Beams
Mountain View Hospital has enjoyed many successful moments during the short 15 years it has been open to the public. Idaho Falls Community Hospital is another successful moment for us. This hospital would not be happening if it weren’t for the hard work given by all of you. We want you to be part of Idaho Falls Community Hospital! We are going to ask you to come out and sign a steel beam that will be installed in the building next week. These will be the final 2 beams placed in the construction of Idaho Falls Community Hospital.
We will have 2 beams available to sign. They will be located just outside the loading dock by the entrance to the construction site. They will be available for signatures from noon on Tuesday the 27th until we lift the beams up to the top of the building at 2pm on the 29th. You will not need to have a hard hat or safety vest to access these beams to sign them. Please do watch for traffic though! (Our ER won’t be open for a while!)
I am excited to have you be a permanent part of this new part of history in healthcare in Idaho Falls.
Thank you for all you do!
Construction will begin on the main entrance of Mountain View Hospital starting Decemeber 3rd, permanently closing it until the completion of the new hospital. The new entrance will provide a larger roundabout and covered walkway from the parking garage. We have included some architectural renderings below to show exactly what it will look like when completed. We know this will cause some hurdles for our patients and appreciate your continued commitment to patient care. We are honored with such an amazing team that puts us at the forefront of healthcare in Southeast Idaho.
On the map below you can see that the temporary entrance will be located just to the east of the main entrance by Physical Therapy and Imaging. Starting October 25th, patients will be able to park in our new parking garage. As more information is available we will continue to update this page.
