SMS Terms and Conditions
When you sign up for text messages from this service, you are signing up to receive text messages related to your relationship with Mountain View Hospital and affiliates, and the following independent, third-party healthcare facilities and providers (“Independent Providers”) for whom Mountain View Hospital provides this contracted service.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Text messages sent through this service relate to your Mountain View Hospital visits, Patient Portal account, one-time passcode, billing notifications, prescription reminders, and care management. Agreement to receive text messages is not required for patients to receive treatment from Mountain View Hospital and affiliates.
By signing up you are consenting to receive communications using text messaging and understand that text messages are unencrypted and are inherently unsecure. You further understand that there is no assurance of confidentiality of the information communicated in this manner. These messages are not considered part of your designated record set and will not be provided upon a request to receive a copy of your medical record.
By agreeing to receive text messages, you agree that the mobile number is yours and that you have permission to use that mobile number. You must let us know right away if you change your mobile number or you no longer have permission to use the mobile number for texting.
MESSAGE FREQUENCY:
Message frequency may vary.
RATES:
Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
HOW TO OPT-OUT:
You can opt in and out of specific types of text messages on the Communications Preferences page in your MyChart account.
You can cancel the SMS service at any time by replying “STOP” to any messages we send you. After sending “STOP” to opt out, we will send you a SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed from all text messages, or we may send you a message to clarify you no longer want to get text messages from that program. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from the short code unless you opt back in.
You understand and approve that replying with STOP to one texting program may opt you out of all texting programs.
If you want to join again, reply with START to opt-back in.
HOW TO GET HELP:
If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program, you can reply with the keyword HELP.
Please update us right away if your mobile number changes. It is your responsibility to give a correct mobile number and to update any changes.
CARRIER LIABILITY:
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
PRIVACY:
We recommend you use a password to protect the information on your mobile device. Text messages may include protected health information (PHI). Since text messaging is unencrypted, there is a risk that this PHI could be intercepted or viewed by third parties, including others who look at your device. When you choose to get text messages from us, you do so at your own risk. SMS communications are not secure or encrypted and third parties can sometimes intercept messages or disguise messages as though we sent them. You agree that you will not text Mountain View Hospital and affiliates any confidential or sensitive information.
Information gathered in the SMS campaign will not be shared for marketing purposes. Read our full Website Privacy Policy.
